lina hidalgoHarris County, TX- The Harris County Office of Management and Budget (OMB) will meet with county departments and Commissioners Court offices this week to discuss ways to balance the budget. Judge Hidalgo and her team continue to advocate for closing the county’s $209M deficit without cutting vital county programs and services that residents depend on. Judge Hidalgo encourages residents to get informed about the Harris County budget process using the resources below: Harris County still has to cut more than $200M, including $48M from county departments, by September in order to balance the budget. Ahead of the final budget vote on September 18th, Judge Hidalgo hopes the Commissioners will come to the table and do the hard work together to find solutions for addressing this shortfall while preserving the programs and services most important to residents.
