Fort Bend Christian Academy Track Makes Big Strides at Regionals

Last week, Fort Bend Christian Academy Track team soared at the recent TAPPS 5A South Regional Meet in Waco, Texas. The girls team was awarded TAPPS 5A Regional Champions, and the boys team was the TAPPS 5A Regional Runner-Up. Later this week, the team is competing at the State Meet in Waco. The girls team continued to show a strong presence by scoring 156 points and becoming Regional Champions. Freshman Bayleigh Minor brought home four gold medals (TJ, 200,400, 4x100), 1 silver medal (LJ), and broke 3 school records (LJ, TJ, 200 meters).  Senior Bailey Hanner excelled at the High Jump by winning the competition on her last and final attempt.  The girls 4x100 relay (Angel Nwodu, Brooke Coleman, Gabbie Washington, Bayleigh Minor) won gold and will go into the state meet as the favorites in the event. The boys team had a great showing by finishing as the Runner-up. Noah Brooks continues to shine in the 400 meters by winning the event. The boys 4x200 relay (Bryce Grays, Noah Brooks, Brian Domino, Matthew Brown) secured the gold medal and earned a trip to the state meet. Freshman Cobey Sellers had an outstanding meet by running personal records in both 110 hurdles (15.57) and 200 meters (21.80) and earning a trip to the state meet. “Both teams performed extremely well.
