Libraries Host Online Activities For Young Adults, Teens In December
Starry Eyes
This fall, Fort Bend County Libraries (FBCL) will offer fun, online programs specifically designed for high school-age teens in grades 9 through 12.
The programs will be either livestreamed via Zoom/WebEx or pre-recorded videos. Registration is required for the livestreamed programs only. An email with the link for the Zoom/WebEx meeting will be sent to all who register on FBCL’s online virtual calendar.
To register for a livestreamed program or to view the how-to videos, go to the Fort Bend County Libraries website – www.fortbend.lib.tx.us – click on the “Classes and Events” tab, select “Virtual Programs,” and find the virtual program on the dates listed.
“YA Holiday-Countdown Calendar”– Tuesday, December 1 (pre-recorded video)
Learn how to use household items to create a fun calendar to countdown the days until the holidays.
“YA Advisory Council” – Tuesday, December 8, 4:00-4:40 pm; or Wednesday, December 23, 4:00-5:00 pm.
This event will be livestreamed via Zoom/WebEx at the designated time. Teens are invited to express ideas, organize upcoming activities, and suggest new programs and books that would be of interest to young adults at the library. Registration is required.
“YA Book Club”– Wednesday, December 9, 3:30-4:30 pm
This event will be livestreamed via Zoom/WebEx at the designated time. This month, readers may discuss the book of their choice. Registration is required.
Learn how to make peppermint-scented bath salts with a few common household ingredients, like baking soda and food coloring. Add a ribbon and gift tag for a fun holiday-themed gift for friends and family.
· “YA Craft: Mini Button-Flower Bouquet” – Wednesday, December 9 (pre-recorded video). Recycle and re-purpose old buttons and more into a colorful bouquet of flowers.

“YA Book Club”– Wednesday, December 16, 4:00-5:00 pm
