HOUSTON – Boo doesn’t have to mean boo-hoo! Children’s Museum Houston and its sister location, Fort Bend Children’s Discovery Center, are dialing down the noise and turning up the comfort for families who need a little less “boo” and a little more “you.” This fall, our fan-favorite Sensory Friendly Days are back—designed just for children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), sensory processing disorder, and other developmental differences, along with their families. During these special events, the Museum opens its doors to provide a judgment-free, calm environment—proof that play should always be for everyone. Thanks to community partners and sponsors, each Sensory Friendly Day is filled with thoughtful adjustments and spook-tacular fun: reduced lights and sounds, extra signage, quiet rooms, and smaller crowds. Families can also connect with local organizations offering resources and support.
