2,000 Attend First Day Of Naca’s Affordable Homeownership Event In Houston

Press Conference Brings Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee, Local Mayors And Others

More than 2,000 future homeowners attended the first day of NACA’s four-day Achieve the Dream event going on now through Sunday at Green House International Church at 200 W. Greens Rd. in Houston. Many were approved for NACA’s Best in America mortgage program. A press conference Thursday morning was attended by congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee, NACA CEO Bruce Marks, several mayors from the Houston metro and the Golden Triangle and other local officials. The program features no down-payment, no closing costs, no fees, no mortgage insurance, and a below market fixed interest rate (4.75% - 30-year fixed and 3.625% - 15-year fixed as of 8/5/22) and credit scores are not considered. Congresswoman Jackson Lee said, “Housing is holistic. It is about families.” She then presented NACA CEO Bruce Marks and National Director Angeanette Thibodeaux with congressional proclamations recognizing the Houston Achieve the Dream event and honoring their work across the country. Green House International Church Pastor E.A. Deckard said, “NACA is transforming lives and families across this city, across this county and across this country.” Beaumont Mayor Robin Mouton said, “I believe this is one of the greatest opportunities we will have in our lifetime.” She added, “One of the first steps to wealth is home ownership so you can pass this down generationally.” Port Arthur Mayor Thurman Bill Bartie said, “We want this in our city where we can help individuals in Port Arthur become homeowners. This IS the American Dream.” He added, “I applaud Bruce (Marks), this organization and everyone who’s involved” Homebuyers can meet with a NACA counselor and underwriter at this one-stop event to access NACA's program. During the four-day event, thousands of homebuyers will receive one-on-one counseling from a HUD Approved NACA Counselor, and many will obtain a same-day NACA Qualification to begin their housing search.  NACA has over $20 Billion for its extraordinary mortgage, including $15 Billion from Bank of America.
