bp America. Leads Katy ISD Education Foundation Investors
The Katy ISD Education Foundation will soon complete its first decade of Inspiring Imagination grants offered Katy ISD teachers for innovative classroom instruction. Community support for the grants is led by the Foundation’s Cornerstone Investor, bp America., who has headlined the Foundation’s corps of investors every year for the past nine years.
bp’s multi-year association with the Katy ISD Education Foundation has yielded classroom innovation at campuses all around Katy ISD. The company’s cumulative annual support for the Foundation totals more than $280,000 and has fueled numerous classroom projects. bp-funded grants cover a variety of activities including STEM projects, robotics, coding clubs, weather stations and career readiness.
“I have been absolutely awestruck with the level of energy and rigour through the Katy ISD Education Foundation grant process to ensure teachers are equipped to do amazing things for students in becoming future leaders in our community” said Kim Coomber-Hallum, bp Senior Manager, Talent Management & Workplace, Finance Procurement and bp’s Board of Director member on the Katy ISD Education Foundation. ‘bp’s donation to the Katy ISD Education Foundation is a sign of our commitment to our community in which we live and operate. There is no better feeling to support teachers and students in their journey to inspiring imagination.”
In its first nine years of operation, the Katy ISD Education Foundation has raised approximately $2.3 million, impacting an average 35,000 Katy ISD students every year. To learn more, contact 281-396-6031 or visit www.katyisdeducationfoundation.org.
